“Would you like to take tea, Louisa? Perhaps some cake?” asked Elizabeth
kindly, almost as if Louisa were a grown-up lady like Mrs Bennet.
“Oh, no thank you ma’am,” said Louisa, “I am not at all thirsty and quite
replete.”
Elizabeth smiled at the child’s vocabulary but managed to turn it into a
welcoming smile instead.
