Since her early teens, Dee Wallain has used writing to express inner and outer life conflicts. Her stories are a mirror image of the falls and successes in her life and the lives of those around her. She believes that the struggles one learns to overcome with resilience, persistence, trust, and faith propel a person to higher pinnacles than might otherwise be possible.
The author’s first published book, Brighty’s Special Gift, was inspired by her faith in God and prayerful discernment. Dee collaborated with illustrator Wendy J. La and designer Ellen Pickels.
Brighty’s Special Gift won the 2016 Illumination Book Award Bronze Medal for an enduring Christian message in a children’s book. This award was the natural outcome of a collaboration of great talent and energy. And with God, who can go wrong?
Dee earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Richmond and a master’s certificate from Georgetown University in biomedical ethics.
Dee and her husband, Jim, reside in Richmond, Virginia.
